You received your rental agreement: now upload documents within 6 days and pay the starting invoice and sign rental agreement the day after receiving your agreement in your account. See the message we sent you in your account.

If you do not take care of paying and signing within these 24 hours, it may hinder the allocation of the property.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not both sign the agreement and pay the starting invoice within the timeframe allocation of the property will be reversed and your account will be paused for 1 month. In that month, we will not allocate you a property. If we offer a property again and you again would not complete as per the agreement made in the rental proposal, we will pause your account for 3 months. This may sound strict, but we also do this to give others a quicker chance. Our advice is therefore: if in doubt of a home, don't accept your rental proposal!

Process Overview

  1. After being allocated a property, review the contract carefully.

  2. Pay the starting invoice, and sign the rental agreement within 24 hours.

  3. Upload the documents in your account within 6 days.

  4. Once the agreement is signed by you and the payment is made, Verhuurtbeter.nl starts checking your documents as soon as possible.

  5. When everything is approved we will send you a message and we ask the lessor to sign the agreement too so you have an agreement signed by all parties.

  6. After lessor's approval, the property manager will contact you to set a date and time for the completion inspection and key handover.

  7. Participate in the completion inspection, collect your keys, and move into the your new home.

Paying the start note

Payment must be made within 24 hours of receiving the rental agreement and starting invoice in your account. The amount has to be transferred to the lessor's bank account.

You do this to pay the starting invoice:

  • Login to your account

  • Go to the 'Documents' button and then to the 'Contract' tab

  • Here you will see your rental agreement and also the Starting invoice

  • Click the blue 'Pay' button

  • The next page shows how and where to transfer the money to. Read these instructions carefully.

Signing the rental agreement

The rental agreement must be signed by tenant(s) the day after receiving the document in your account. If you don't do this on time, it could hinder the letting of the property to you or cause you to receive the keys to the property later.

Once you have paid the start note and signed the rental agreement we will start checking the documents you have uploaded as soon as possible. After the signing and payment formalities are complete, the documents are forwarded to the lessor for their signature and approval. This is a crucial step in finalizing the agreement between both parties.

Please note that if there are any questions about the contents of the lease, do NOT click 'Decline' when signing the agreement, but ask your question in your account and you will hear from us soon.

These are the steps to sign the rental agreement, after you have read it carefully, of course:

  • Log into your account

  • Go to the 'Documents' button and then the 'Contract' tab

  • Here you will see your Rental Agreement and also the Start Note

  • Click on the link [Lease agreement address rental property | code/date/time] Here you can read through the agreement in your browser or download it to your computer or perhaps print it out.

  • In the screen you will see a blue button 'Sign', click this button and you will see the same agreement again, via the Start button you can start the process for signing and thus sign the agreement online, after you have read the agreement carefully. Please sign both if there are two tenants!

After the agreement is signed, our team can proceed with checking your Documents.

Verification of your uploaded documents

The documents that you have all uploaded within 6 days after accepting the rental proposal will be checked by our Customer Contact Centre [KCC] team. Our KCC will send you a message to let you know that we will start with the document checks. This starts as soon as possible, but only after you signing the rental agreement and paying the start note. For tenants who receive the keys to their rental property a bit further in the future, the check may also take place later. Here you can read which documents we ask for. If there are any questions about the documents you provide, our team usually contacts you via the message centre of your account, so that everything is recorded centrally for you and for the lessor. Once everything has been checked by the KCC, we will send you a message that everything is in order and confirm the date for the key delivery of your new rental property. That is the completion Inspection. The property manager will contact you to set the time with you.

The Completion Inspection of your new rental property

On this day, the new rental property is yours. You will receive the keys from the property manager on the specified date and time. The property manager will also prepare an inspection report so that you and the lessor can fall back on the condition of the property upon key handover. Please note: at the handover, it is important that you (including a possible second tenant) bring your ID so we can verify your identity.
