Rental proposal accepted: upload documents, pay starting invoice and sign rental agreement
Verhuurtbeter.nl will now start working for you and will soon (usually the same or next working day) prepare the rental agreement (tenancy agreement) and the starting invoice based on the specifications mentioned in the rental proposal you accepted.

It is now important that you upload all documents and that you pay the start note and sign the rental agreement within 24 hours (see rental proposal) from receiving the documents in your Faster Renting account. If you do not take care of this within these 24 hours, it may hinder the allocation of the property.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not sign the agreement and pay the starting invoice within 24 hours, the allocation of the property will be reversed and your account will be paused for 1 month. In that month, we will not allocate you a property. If we offer a property again and you again fail to complete as per the agreement made in the rental proposal, we will pause your account for 3 months. This may sound strict, but we also do this to give others a quicker chance.
Our advice is therefore: if in doubt, don't accept your rental proposal!


Paying the start note

Payment must be made within 24 hours of receiving the rental agreement and starting invoice in your account. The amount will be paid online and securely through your account and will go directly into the lessor's account. Payment can be made via iDeal or bank transfer. iDeal is the most commonly used and our recommended method for tenants with a Dutch bank account. The alternative is a bank transfer [SEPA].

You do this to pay the starting invoice:

  • Login to your account

  • Go to the 'Documents' button and then to the 'Contract' tab

  • Here you will see your rental agreement and also the Starting invoice

  • Click on the link [Starting invoice address rental property | code/date/time]

  • Now you will see a blue 'Pay' button, click this button

  • Then you will see an image that looks something like this:

  • Click your preferred payment method and make the payment via iDeal or Bank Transfer.

    iDeal: all details are already filled in for you, this method of payment is the easiest, unless you do not have a Dutch bank account.

    Bank transfer: the image below shows where you will end up if you choose this payment method. For this payment method, carefully read the message in the image below and on the payment page about the exact details and the correct amount.

Signing the rental agreement

The rental agreement must be signed by tenant(s) within 24 hours of receiving the document in your account. If you don't do this on time, it could hinder the letting of the property to you or cause you to receive the keys to the property later, even though by then the agreement has already started. That would be a shame.

Once you have paid the start note and signed the rental agreement, we will start checking the documents you have uploaded.

Please note that if there are any questions about the contents of the lease, do NOT click 'Decline' when signing the agreement, but ask your question in your account and you will hear from us soon.

These are the steps to sign the rental agreement, after you have read it carefully, of course:

  • Log into your account

  • Go to the 'Documents' button and then the 'Contract' tab

  • Here you will see your Rental Agreement and also the Start Note

  • Click on the link [Lease agreement address rental property | code/date/time]Here you can read through the agreement in your browser or download it to your computer or perhaps print it out. What suits you best!

  • In the screen you will see a blue button 'Sign', click this button and you will see the same agreement again, via the Start button you can start the process for signing and thus sign the agreement online, after you have read the agreement carefully. Please sign both if there are two tenants!

After the agreement is signed, our team can proceed with allocating your property and checking your Documents.

Verification of your uploaded documents

The documents that you have all uploaded within 6 days of accepting the rental proposal, if all goes well, will be checked by our Customer Contact Centre [KCC] team after the time of signing the rental agreement/paying the start note. For tenants who receive the keys to their rental property a bit further in the future, the check may also take place later. Here you can read which documents we ask for. If there are any questions about the documents you provide, our team contact usually via the message centre of your Faster Renting account, so that everything is recorded centrally for you and for the landlord. Once everything has been checked by the KCC, we will send you a message that everything is in order and confirm the date and time you can take delivery of the keys to your new rental property. That is the completion Inspection.


The Completion Inspection of your new rental property

On this day, the new rental property is yours. You will receive the keys from our Service Manager on the specified date and time. Our Service Manager will also prepare an inspection report so that you and the landlord can fall back on the condition of the property upon key handover. Please note: at the handover, it is important that you (including a second possible tenant) bring your ID.
